“Are the arms of the mount strong enough to hold the TV permanently extended by 10-12 inches, or does it need to be pushed back against the wall after using? My TV will sit in a tight alcove, so would be nice if I didn't have to reposition frequently.”

• In my experience as of right now I’ve had my 55 inch extended for over 2 months and there hasn’t been any ripping tearing of the joint or connecting points
