Hi CaliforniaUnderwater, In installing a television using this Rocketfish™ - Full-Motion TV Wall Mount for Most 40" - 75" TVs - Black, it should be high enough so your eyes are level with the middle of the screen from a seated position (normally, 40 to 60 inches from the ground). If your 55" television is close to the ceiling and you wanted to mount this 65" TV, yes, you need to reinstall the entire TV wall mount to lower the distance of the TV from the ceiling. For additional information, the 55" TV has a 28.6 inches height while the 65" TV has a 33.5"" inches height.
