“I have 8 led lights which require usb (5w/1a) service or wall chargers. Will this strip do? Is it safe to use extension cords between some of the lights with wall chargers and this device? I plan to use the lights 12 hours each day.”

I would contact an electrician to be sure .... Electrician fees are cheap when you compare to the cost of replacing your house after it burns to the ground because you were playing around with electricity. BTW there area also surge protectors to cover the entire house system from total destruction by unusually powerful jolts. THEY need to be installed by professionals though. AND replaced when they take a hit. WELL worth the cost.
