I had my TVs mounted by Best Buy’s Geek squad. Mine were mounted on Sheetrock. While the men were here, I asked about a spot over a fireplace, where the wall did not seem solid, more hollow. They said “No.”. I am not answering your question, because I do not know the answer, but the answer should come from Best Buy. Even if you are going to mount it yourself, they should give you the answer.
