I don't know about the wattage, but I can tell you that I used to have a 37 inch Hisense Roku TV, and I have to use the Roku stream bar as a speaker because the speakers were crap. Not on this tv, the sound quality is excellent. And I mean really really excellent. I don't need a sound bar or anything like that. Roku is definitely making excellent TVs now. I just checked my tv, and the speakers are facing downward. They also give you an option in the audio settings, to select whether this is going to be a wall mounted TV or on its stand. So they really care about the quality of the sound that you're hearing. I can tell by your concern, because that has always been a concern with me with these tvs, that the sound has always been crap, but Roku change the game with this tv. You do not need a soundbar. Trust me or not
