The short answer is the CPU on this one is way more powerful than the original, so it's on-par with the Roku 4 in terms of performance. I haven't experienced any lag yet.

I think the private listening using the Roku mobil app is only available on the new version. This version is just faster when using the remote to navigate the screen.

As soon as i figure out what cable I need. LOL We have a Roku 3 (see below) in the LR, we love it. I recommend it 200%. This Stick is for the office.
