• The short answer is the CPU on this one is way more powerful than the original, so it's on-par with the Roku 4 in terms of performance. I haven't experienced any lag yet.

• what I noticed is the 2016 Stick is a lot faster and supports Screen Mirroring from Android devices.

• It's much faster and it has the ability to use your phone for the audio so you can listen privately without disturbing anyone else.

• I think just speed and reliability. Setup procedure was the same, UI and remote didn't change. I think the private listening using the Roku mobil app is only available on the new version. This version is just faster when using the remote to navigate the screen.

• If you Google Roku 3600r reviews, you will get your answer. Too complex for me to relate, sorry. Suffice to say I am going to get the 2016 model. As soon as i figure out what cable I need. LOL We have a Roku 3 (see below) in the LR, we love it. I recommend it 200%. This Stick is for the office.
