u need to have a membership with Netflix, Hulu, for example, but i guarantee that 2 movies that you rent on demand will cover your whole monthly fee.

Yes. Roku allows you to stream movies via apps like Netflix Hulu etc. in which they charge you a monthly fee.
You can rent movies via amazon and a few others but you will have to pay.

If you continue to watch onDemand movies, yes, you will still have to pay for them. We use this to watch Hulu plus and Netflix streaming content, both of which we pay a monthly fee for (but both fees combined is about a third the cost of cable).
