Nope, you can use it on "normal" tvs that have hdmi ports. It works well on both my smart and non smart tvs.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, we have two SMART TVs one is a ROKU SMART TV. It has ROKU built in. The other does not. It does have Netflix and a few other channels, but not all of the options available in ROKU. We can't add apps or channels to our SMART TV like we can with the ROKU so we use the ROKU stick to compliment the channels already listed on SMART TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Smart TV is not required. The stick plugs into hdmi port on the tv.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No-so called "smart" TVs are just TVs with some extra features. Roku (and things like an Xbox One) do those features (and more) much better than "smart" TVs do. Even if you have a "smart" TV, you'd still want some sort of separate box if you want to do streaming. You just need an input available for whatever device you're hooking up.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, the Roku does work on all TV's with an HDMI port.
