The Premiere+ is an actual STB. I has connections for HDMI, Ethernet, etc. The Streaming Stick is literally like a large flash drive that you plug directly into the TV's HDMI port. The only connector that it has is a micro-USB port for power. Operationally, they both work the same, but the Premiere+ supports 4K UHD and HDR, whereas the stick only supports up to 1080P resolution.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The biggest difference is the size. Most features are on both devices with a few minor exceptions. As long as you have an HDMI port to plug the stick into you should be just as happy with it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The premier has a faster processor, can be connected to Ethernet and handles 4K content. You must decide if those things are worth the additional expense. In my case they weren't since the tv I wanted it for is not 4K and the wifi and processor is more than sufficient for my needs. I also like that I can stick it in an HDMI port on the back of the tv, connect it to the tv's usb and with one click the tv boots to the roku homepage while not being visible from the front of the tv. But if you want 4K then the premier is your choice.
