The answer is NO - that’s bologna! I use a normal HDMI cord and my Roku 4K works wonders!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. I would try the one you have and then make a decision. Most independent HDMI cord reviewers will tell you there is no significant difference between the most expensive cords and reasonably priced cords.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Depends on the quality and length of your current cables. I have some 10ft 4K rated HDMI cables that worked perfectly fine at 1080P, but had occasional drop out issues with this Roku device (very cheap thin cables, my bad!). I also had a 50ft high quality HDMI cable for a 1080P projector that worked fine. Upgraded to a 4K projector and could not even get a 4K signal thru it. Upgraded cables in both instances with decent and inexpensive 4K rated cables (based on reviews) and have had no problems at all (However, I did reduce the projector cable length to 25ft based on many of those reviews). So, YMMV. Short length, like 6ft, decent cables will probably work fine. I agree with others, try it with what you have first. Note also that sometimes you just get a defective cable, just like anything else.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There are 2 reasons to buy HDMI cords that are "higher quality": 1) it makes you feel special, or impresses your friends 2) you want to fund electronic store profits I've been using the same basic HDMI cables across all devices, and there is no difference even with 4k on my OLED.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you've got an existing cable it'll probably work fine. If it doesn't, or if it sparkles or cuts out or anything like that then you could buy a new one, but most will work fine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You ALWAYS want to use a "4K-rated" HDMI-cable >>> IF you want the ROKU to DELIVER "4K Hi-Def" to your 4K TV.
