With normal use, it should last a couple of months. The voice switch on the left side, unless you use it, should be in the off position, as it tends to run the battery down faster. It used to give a low battery indication on the TV screen, but it does not stay in the top right corner long.

Hello John, the remote will indicate low battery by prompting it on the screen when in use and a red flashing light next to the power button.
