• Hello Lori! When using the defrosting feature the oven beeps half way through defrosting to remind you to turn the food over. Press the Start button again to finish defrosting. Thank you for choosing Samsung to be a part of your kitchen! ^Lena

• Usually it means that when the food item has finished heating up or cooking or whatever it is you have in the microwave, its alerting you that it is done and to remove it or keep cooking, reheating etc.
