“Has anyone ever used this microwave as a counter top microwave, without using the fan feature? I like the microwave but have a built in cook top and a great space in my new cabinets to put it. Just wanting to use as a regular convection microwave. Thanks”

No, our application is under cabinet mounting. As the fan/exhaust vents are located on the bottom of unit, I would be concerned about using it on the counter as the air flow and exhaust functions would be restricted. The microwave works very well and we are happy with the purchase but be careful of counter top use. Good luck1 Hudson Hall
