It's not meant to go inside a cabinet. With the handle on it I really don't see how it would work at all. It is meant to be installed over your stove top.

No, as the fan has to be able pull air from the kitchen area and exhaust it either outside or it sends it back into the kitchen. Also, you may have a problem opening and closing the door inside a cabinet. You would not be able to access the one of the filters which is located under the microwave.

Since it was designed to be attached to a cabinet above it and wall behind it, it also doesn't have feet to enable it to rest stably on a surface.
