“Does it mount to upper cabinet or side cabinets? I may have to remove upper cabinet”

• It mounts to the back wall and to the upper cabinet. That is pretty standard for most "over the stove" microwaves. You pretty much have to have an upper cabinet to install.

• The microwave mounts to your upper cabinet over the range. It comes with the necessary mounting equipment and instructions which are pretty easy to follow. I would give this a 5 on the difficulty range for the install, but would strongly suggest to have somebody help you with the mounting of the microwave at least.

• No cabinet removal is necessary. It mounts to the back wall with an included plate and uses two bolts through the upper cabinet floor to fasten. You may need another person to help install.

• The ME18H704SFS and other Samsung Over The Range Microwaves are designed to attach to both the upper cabinet and the wall behind the Microwave. There's currently no system for attaching it to side cabinets. Thanks for your interest, Ms. Samsung
