• The booklet says that the fan will kick on when the cooktop gets hot. This will cool the microwave down and help it too last longer.

• I just read in the manual that the fan turns on low after it senses heat - and then cannot be turned off manually. The low fan setting is pretty quiet on mine so I wasn't concerned, but 30-45 minutes may bother me a bit more....
