• I have the same issue. Set to recirculate exhaust, exhaust is strong but no bottom venting/suction is occurring.

• Did you install without reading the manual? Sounds like you installed the wrong exhaust. Method. If you have a vented system it should work as it was boxed. However, if you don't you need to turn the motor to recirculate the air within the kitchen. Hope the info helped.
