I think that Halogen bulbs take a different base than do LED, so I don't think it's like screwing in an LED bulb vs an incandescent. Halogens typically have 2 pins which insert straight into a base, not a twist action. Besides, you can't touch the glass of a Halogen with bare hands... the oil from your fingers will create a hot spot you can't see, which will blow out the bulb sooner than later. The Halogen about this unit makes me hesitate. They are very expensive to run and I would never use it as a night light, even on low, just because of the electricity expense. Seems like a behind-the-times feature to me, and makes me hesitate about this model.
