• Hi Bob, you'll lose some quality with an Optical connection, but many people can't tell the difference. You should try your favorite content with both HDMI and Optical. If you don't hear any difference go with the convenience of an Optical connection. Thanks, ^Scott

• HDMI is always the way to go versus optical but unless you are an audio head you probably won’t notice a big difference especially if you just go with optical right off the bat. You will definitely lose sound and quality with Bluetooth though.
