Seems that the fridges that they call "Counter Depth" are under about 31 1/2 inches. (approx) The 27 cu ft fridges are typically not "counter depth" and are much deeper; maybe 35 or 36 inches deep or so. You have to really measure carefully the space where you are going to put your new fridge. And also measure any critical areas along the path that they will need to carry the fridge to the kitchen. You might need to take some cabinet doors off or maybe take the doors off the fridge in order to get it to squeeze into the kitchen. Measure, measure accurately. I found that the advertised specs are pretty accurate. Also, the bigger fridges may be wider and taller to provide the extra volume. We bought the 22.4 cu ft fridge because we had some limitation of resting place and entry space.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, the counter depth is definitely smaller...I see the biggest difference in the freezer space.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I’ve owned both refrigerators. It is a trade off of internal volume/space vs visual aesthetics. The 27 cu ft is very large and is a necessity if you have a family, cook and save leftovers regularly. However it sticks out considerably from the counter. About 5 inches or so. (Depth of frigerator + 1-2 inch gap behind the fridge. I now have a counter depth. You can definitely feel that it is smaller, especially the freezer. It works for us because we have a second storage fridge to accommodate the smaller volume. Aesthetically it is better as it is not jutting out from the counter.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My counter is 25 1/2 inches deep the fridge is 27 1/2 inches in depth and it sits out 30 inches from the wall because the plug is behind it four feet from the floor. The 27 cu ft fridge is 36.25 deep, That's a significant amount of space difference if space matters.
