“We recently bought this tv to use with a charter tv provider. We used the first tv code to sync charter remote to this tv. Everything seems to work fine for a while but occasionally when changing channels the tv just goes off.”

I called our cable provider. TV needs to be coded with remote! TV's used to have a list of codes in set up booklets.. But, codes change, upgrades etc., this is no longer viable. Good luck and enjoy your TV.
