I use it as a second monitor with my computer currently. While it obviously will not have the performance of a dedicated monitor, I find it very adequate. I have played action games with no noticeable lag (You MUST set it up in game mode or you WILL experience lag.), watch YouTube, Netflix, et.al. You will notice a bit of pixelation if you are closer than, probably, 24"-30". I am around 20"-24" and do notice, but it is unimportant in most applications I use it for. As for your actual question. I have no idea of the actual response time. I do know that unless you are a hard core gamer, it is probably fast enough. (Seeing you are hooking it up to a laptop, I can't imagine it being a problem...other than the how close you might sit to it issue.)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use my Samsung UN32J5500 HDTV as a computer monitor for three separate computers, selectable among the three HDMI inputs. If you have a HDMI output on your laptop, and can handle 1080p, there should not be a problem. I'm not sure what concern you have with response time. As I type the answer to your question, the TV responds rather quickly, with text appearing as I type.
