Ensure that your speaker wires that go into the red and black parts are not "shoved in" too far. You don't want any of the plastic shielding from the speaker wires to be making contact and even the smallest bit of exposed wire inside each clip will transfer sound. I too had no sound until I backed the wire out just a few millimeters. Keep in mind that the speakers will be lower in volume depending on what you're watching or listening to, the volume overall, and the audio settings you choose within the soundbar. Once you mess with those a bit, you should have a better experience.

If you set the sound mode to SURROUND, you will get surround sound effect from the rear speakers.
