Thanks for the question. The WF457ARGSGR can be used without activating the Smart Control feature by simply choosing not to connect it to WiFi or download the app to your Smart Phone. It can be controlled manually by turning the dial and pressing the buttons on the control panel. Detailed instructions for using the controls can be found in the User Manual. - Ms. Samsung
