Cinema works best for most viewing. The image will look close to what the director intended. The Standard setting cuts down on power consumption and helps earn the Energy Star label but it provides a very dim picture.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Not to be jerk, but I think your problem is DirectTV and the type of single they transmit. Have you tried hooking it up through another devices? I once had a similar issues with a G E TV and found that running the signal through a Blu-Ray player solved the issue. That seemed to modify the signal somehow and the picture improved for us. Give it a try and use HDMI connections between the Blu-Ray and the TV. It may not work for everyone, but it did for us. Once I switched to cable(Xfinity) I did not have issues with that TV and I am not having any issues now with the Samsung. Hope this work for you.
