As long as the Optical Cable is connected from the soundbar to the TV, it will work fine. The HDMI cable sends the picture AND sound from the Blu-Ray player into the TV. Once it's in the TV, the sound will be re-directed to the Soundbar through the Optical Cable into the Soundbar. Basically you're using an HDMI to send a picture and sound to the tv. The picture stays (of course), and the sound is sent on to a different source (AKA the Soundbar). Hope this makes sense!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Viktor, If you connect a soundbar or home theater system to this TV using the optical out or the HDMI ARC, you will only have to connect your other external devices to the TV directly. ^Rosi
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have my PS4 bluray connected hdmi to tv then optical out to soundbar. You just need to go to speaker settings and click on optical out and everything connected to tv through audio video inputs and hdmi will have its own sound coming out of optical port to sound bar.
