Sound out on this tv is done with a toslink (optical) cable. If you have a speaker system that accepts toslink you will be good. If not, there is a toslink to analog converter that will make it compatible with most any speaker system. Make sure you set the sound type to PCM or the converter will only crackle and pop with you.
