Does this washing machine have a locking lid? null

Yes but when you want to add something all you do is press down on the “hold to start” button and it unlocks. Add the item then press the button again to lock and restart machine.

Yes, you can press a childproof symbol and the lid won't open until you press and hold it again.. I do know that even without the childproof symbol pressed, while it is filling, spinning, and running, you have to press the pause before you can open it to add clothes, This is a great machine. I don't keep the lid open when I am done (and it still smells fresh every time), because it is deep and I am afraid of my cats crawling inside, the lid accidentally closing, and trapping them inside. I love this washer. It has a very pleasant sound to signal when done--a nice melodic chime.
