“I broke my remote and the new one says to turn on the Samsung manually before setting it up. The new remote says it is preprogrammed for Samsung. I don't see any controls to turn it on manually? Is there a hidden control panel?”

Hi, yes there is a small hidden button under the TV set, on the right side, about an inch from the edge. Press it once and that will turn it on. After it's on, you can press it again and it will prompt you to use some of the functions like channel change & volume adjustments. If you press and hold it for 2-3 seconds, it will turn it off.
