I live in AZ, and have had 2 of these units in my garage for about a month. Temps in the garage are consistently well into the 90s and both units have maintained interior temps set in the mid 50s.

Regarding your concern, the temperature can be set as low as 45℉ (5℃) or as high as 64℉ (18℃). Here is a link to our user manual for further assistance.
