“I have read several review talking about how the q80 crushes blacks too much, sacrificing shadow detail and suppressing highlights. Is there a way to fix this in the settings, and does it then introduce more blooming as a result?”

Web site RTINGS.com. Lots of info about adjusting/calibrating all the models they evaluate, including the Samsung q80 series. Good site for 'how to' regardless of whether or not you agree with their reviews.
