This TV is NOT 4k. It is 1080p which is the Blu-Ray standard. Do a search on Google Images for "viewing distance for 4k to be worth it" and you will get several different charts that show how close you have to sit for a given screen size before you can notice the difference in detail a 4k TV gives you. HOWEVER ... 4k TV's may have other features like FALD and HDR that can be noticed even at larger distances. The best features go into 4k TV's because that's what they want to sell. You have to decide if it's worth it.
