• Induction ranges need ferrous based pans so typical aluminum pans dont work on this.

• Pots and pans must have a magnetic property for the cooktop to function. Simple hold a magnet up to the bottom of the pot/pan to check the utensil's usability. Cast iron or stainless steel will work. Mind you, most pots have an aluminum layer for even heat distribution but will possibly work.
