Nothing. It's basically the same TV just newer production date. I purchased the UN65KS and put my savings towards a nice set of 4K cables and dinner.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.MU8000 is 2017 version but lacks the Quantum Dot technology of the KS8000 of 2016. Quantum Dot was sold as superior technology and then they remove it? This I suspect to get you to move up to QLED which, low and behold, has... Quantum Dot technology at a huge price increase. I also have read that Samsung's QLED is not the same as the newest technology OLED by other manufacturers and is inferior to such. That's not to say it may not be a good TV, just not the same technology.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The MU8000 series is a current 2017 model set, whereas the KU800 is a previous year's set. Each year, Samsung moves up one or two letters in the alphabet to use as an identifier of the year of production. Sony , LG and the other manufacturers use similar protocols. Every year, TV manufacturers tend to make various changes and improvements to their new lines, in a given series, some bigger that others, but not always, just as the automobile manufacturers make changes in performance or appearance in a given model series, from year to year. The $300 difference in price may reflect the cost of new technology for the current models, as compared to the older KU8000 models, but is most likely a price cut offered by the manufacturer, and passed on by the retailer, to the customer to clear out the older models to make room on the retailer's shelves for the newest models.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. From my research this is not true. The kS8000 is about the same but the kU8000 lacks something to do with the HDR and the wide color gamut.
