WHY DO I HAVE TO TURN THIS TV TO VOLUME 40 FOR SOUND null

Most flat screen tvs are meant to be used with external speakers (sound bar, or theater speakers). They do this to keep the profile slim. Adding great quality speakers would increase the width too much. I have the Bose cinema speakers and the sound is amazing!
