I have this same TV and went through the same pain. Can you make the Atomos sound bar work with this TV? Yes, but only if the audio signal to your sound bar does not go through the TV first. One of the big problems with the Q70 series is the very limited number of audio formats that the TV will pass through to your sound bar or AV system if you use the TV to select the video input. The excellent website RTINGS has a list of the formats that the TV will pass through and the only one listed is Dolby Digital 5.1. All other formats including DTS, Atomos etc cannot be passed through the Q70 TV at the time of my research. Perhaps Samsung will come out with a firmware update that will allow it. You need to send the audio to the sound bar from your video source (Blu Ray, Apple TV, PS4, Xbox, etc) through a separate HDMI cable, digital coax (RCA connector) or Toslink fiber optic. I use an AVR receiver to drive my 7.1 surround. My 4K AppleTV routes through the AVR using a 4K HMDI cable, and then on to the TV through another 4K HDMI cable. My HDR 4K BluRay uses two cables: one 4K HDMI cable to the TV for the HDR10+ video and one RCA digital coax to the AVR for the audio. What nobody usually knows is that the Q70 cannot output Atmos therefore any content you watch from apps running on the TV will only be in 5.1 Dolby Digital. This is very good audio, but to get Atomos you will need pull your media from another player routed with a separate cable for audio to the sound bar. A low cost solution could be to purchase a BluRay player like mine (Sony UBP-X700) and route the audio to your sound bar using the secondary HDMI on back or the digital RCA cable. This player is pretty cool because it has apps for the major streaming services, and if those services output an Atmos soundtrack you will get it passed to your sound bar. Good luck!
