I have other high samsung phones and I have no problems of using the same charger. I have bought a Galaxy J7 phone and it will not charge on the pad. Do I need to buy another pad made for this phone? null

You would need to find out if your phone is qi capable and if it is some phones will charge slow using this charger if it is not a qi fast charging enabled phone

I had someone tell me you can buy a magnetic strip that goes inside your phone case that allows the older phones the ability to charge on the same charging pad.

I don't think the J7 has wireless charging capability. I would email Samsung direct with that question.

I did a quick search for you on Samsung's page. Unfortunately I see that the J7 is not listed as a compatible device. I would suggest going to the Samsung page and finding out what is comparable and then coming back over to Best Buy and getting that model.
