“It says you do trade ins for Pixel XL2 of up to $450...but when I go to order there's no box to tick or explanation how...Am looking at the UNLOCKED phone. Please clarrify”

as far as i know that is only thru ordering from Samsung directly. This is NOT recommended as you have to send your phone to Samsung to have it appraised, and if you dont get as much as you would like for it, theres no way to cancel it.
