That is exactly what I did. I bought an Unlocked Galaxy S8 and use my Straight Talk service. No issues at all. I had to buy a Sims card from Walmart it is in a conversion kit which includes a month of service. I bought the 10GB just to make sure I was able to unload everything from my previous phone. Straight talk added in the additional month to my existing time with no problems. Didn't lose any time or have any issues with using the new Unlocked phone. I picked Version's Sim card from the conversion set since it had the best coverage for my very rural area.
