It's hard to say without knowing her specific situation. If she has an Android phone, it would be similar. It's pretty intuitive. It's slim, so if she has arthritis in her hands, holding on to it might be an issue. Getting a simple folio case might be a good idea. The screen resolution is really good - clear and bright colors. So far, the only problem I've noticed is swiping it to enter the PIN. It seems to be a different direction every time. I bought this to replace a Samsung Galaxy Tab that I bought in 2013, and I haven't yet transferred over the micro SD card, so I don't know if there will be any issues there. I would recommend sticking with the Chrome browser, rather than Samsung's. The browser was the first thing they stopped updating on my previous tablet. Good luck!
