• This particular model is wifi only. It has no space for a sim card and therefore cannot be used with a data plan. However, other versions of the same tablet are offered with connectivity to Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, etc. Just look around this site. Of course, those do cost more ...

• Yes, you may add a data plan. This model dose allow you to add a SIM card. I have a service plan through T-Mobile.

• If your phone has Hot Spot capability, you should be able to connect this this tablet to the internet through your phone. My Samsung Tab A is WIFI only and I connect through my Verizon phone using Hot Spot.

• T-Mobile offers a data line for this tablet, I'm sure other carriers do also.
