Not pre-installed like if you bought a Nook Tablet, but it is the same type of tablet (I have the first generation Nook Galaxy as well) and very easy to install both programs using Google Play. I actually installed Nook, Amazon books, Kobo Books, and Overdrive for library books easily and with zero issues. There is plenty of room in this tablet and Google Play app makes it very simple to install.
