• Yes, it definitely works fine with fingertips for general use, typing/swype, games, ebooks, email. The pen would be for more detailed work: Art/Draw/Color/Paint; spreadsheets with small cells; fine-tuned selection.

• I bought this mainly for use with my band and as yet haven't came across a "pen function", the touch screen works excellent with finger tips or a stylus!!! This is a great tablet, very fast and light weight. Hope this helps!
