I don't think a screen protector is necessary unless you're planning on taking it everywhere with you. I mainly use mine in my house and at in my classes and I almost always have the keyboard cover to protect the screen when I'm on the go. However, if you do plan on getting one, I'd suggest a glass screen protector.

As for which one I would recommend any one of them that is actually a "glass" screen protector and is designed for this tablet. There is a hidden microphone at the top near the camera and if you done get a screen protector made for this tablet you could cover it and cause issues with the camera and microphone.
