We're not only looking at the battery behind the gorgeous screen here, but also the battery in the delicate and sensitive keyboard. In my non-Samsung detatchables, the keyboards have sadly gone to early graves when following charging guidelines. Personally, I would be wary of the current draw of a C-cable (and the potential for using the wrong charging block) being improper when going as far back as an S3, and causing damage during changing. Samsung would more than likely not be too impressed and would not warranty the tablet. On this particular item, the price tag is a direct correlation to the OLED screen, not any other technology. Since this is a tablet running on mobile tech, not a laptop running with pc processing capabilities, it is easily bogged down when running several normal apps at a time, or playing a movie, and can get a little toasty when used to max capacity. Remember that in all aspects, it's the same thing as the cell phone youre holding in your hand to act as it's modem (if you aren't sitting at home on your private Wi-Fi), with a large OLED screen. Charging by piggybacking from, say, your laptop with an old-school USB to USB cable, on the other hand, doesn't pose the same risks, but I didn't try that on the 512G Ultra that I returned. Sidenote: This tablet is a great reason to buy a 1TB sd card at the time of purchase if you want to do more than surfing, social, banking, or if you want to save any pictures or docs on it, and if you're going to invest in this OLED screen rather than a regular tablet or top-of-the-line laptop, you definitely want to spend little bit of extra money for the 512 rather than the 256 model (just for reference) if you want to run 3+ normal apps at the same time.
