You can connect to a hotspot on both versions, but if you want to connect directly to mobile internet, you'll need to buy the compatible version and pay for a separate cellular plan for the tablet.

The advertised Galaxy Tab S9 is a Wi-Fi enabled tablet that lacks the cellular connectivity needed in order to be added to a carrier's data network so you would be unable to purchase data to utilize for this tablet while traveling outside of a steady Wi-Fi connection. It does, however, have mobile hotspot capabilities available that allow you to create a Wi-Fi network that can be used by multiple devices. Let us know if you think of any other questions for us by reaching out to Samsung Support at your leisure. Thank you for being a faithful Samsung customer. - Debra
