A:AnswerI am a Verizon client. Her Gold watch, as well as my Silver one, are 4G lte and are added to our account. The WEARABLE app does all of the linkage between the phone and the watches and the account. They are standalone "phones" and you don't half to have your phone with you. If your watch is not 4G lte, then it is coupled by wifi or Bluetooth to the phone and you must have your phone with you to receive or make calls on your watch and is not an active phone. I presume the Note8 is compatible.
A:AnswerYou do not need a data plan for this watch to work, you only need a data plan if you plan on using the watch without it being paired to your phone. Yes the samsung ear buds work with this watch.
A:AnswerI use mine with my Samsung 8 note, so, I would expect it will work with the 9. You can use it as a stand alone phone if you register it as a phone with your your provider (AT&T). Depending on you plan, this may cost you extra. I use mine as a bluetooth connection to my phone, so, I don't know about the quality of the phone calls as a stand alone phone. Anyway, I like mine.
