“Can someone with eyeglasses wear the headset without taking them off? If someone needs to wear prescription eyeglasses, can they keep them on when using the Samsung Gear VR? If they have to take them off, is there anyone with astigmatism or nearsightedness who can comment on visual clarity of the VR imagery?”

Yes! I have had a few people with glasses use it with no trouble. They had to take them off.

Both were able to fit the Gear VR over their glasses and see the content fine, despite me telling them it wasn't meant to be used that way. Seemed to be fine for them, but I can't speak from personal experience and I wouldn't think it would be too comfortable.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have some friends that kept their glasses on when they tried my Gear VR and it worked fine. I guess it depends on the size of the glasses. There is a focus wheel on the top that works pretty well too if you want to try it without glasses, it depends on how bad your vision is.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You can't use the headset with glasses. There is some adjustment but it is very limited. I have fairly strong astigmatism and I can not quite make the picture crystal clear but it is good enough to play games and make out large text.

Some can wear eyeglasses while wearing and some cannot. it depends on how strong of an eyeglass you need to wear. if you have thick glasses then yes wear them while using the VR, but if you can use the focus wheel and see well enough I would not wear glasses.
