Hi Speakers, For the HW-Q990D Samsung Soundbar, we recommend that you place it in a room with ceilings no higher than 14 feet for the best possible experience when playing Dolby Atmos content. You will want to keep the subwoofer on the floor; we do recommend positioning it a few inches away from the front wall of the room where your soundbar is located, but the precise location will ultimately depend on what provides you with the best bass experience. Regarding the soundbar itself, placing it under the TV, facing towards where you sit, and having the rear speakers behind the sitting area would be the optimal placement. ~Samsung Solutions
