The 990D supports direct input to the soundbar. The 990C does not, but if your tv has e(arc) 2.1 pass thru, then just go from tv to soundbar, like I do with my LG oled in bedroom. In my living room I plug my ps5 directly into the 990D because it can deliver Dolby Vision pass thru to the LG Oled
